This Week in Ballroom (12/8 - 12/14)
Posted on Wed, Dec 10 2014
Hello Ballroom Friends,

Hope you are all relaxing after BADC this weekend! Congratulations once again to Spencer and his team (Matt, Bobbie, Olivia, Roel, Feifei, Lullit) and their assistants (Crystal, Dina, Joanna, Elina, Kevin, Agnes, Aisulu, and Alice) for all of their hard work this semester - you guys did an amazing job putting on a fantastic, on schedule, smoothly running competition.

We also want to thank hosts and volunteers - without you guys, we could not hold a successful BADC. You guys are crucial to our competition, and we want to make sure you know that. To those of you that stayed beyond your shifts and offered to do extra, we are so grateful and appreciative of your willingness to help, your flexibility, and your support.

We also had some fantastic results from our dancers, which you can access here!

BADC Feedback

We are always looking to make things better (and to keep doing whats working well), so if you have any feedback or ideas you would like to share, please let us know here!

Holiday Party (Dec 8th @ 10pm, Lerner c555)

Come celebrate the end of the year with CU Ballroom at a Roaring 20s Gatsby Party!

MAC: Jan 16-17 (Register by December 31st!)

The Manhattan Amateur Classic is a fantastic amateur competition being held on Friday January 16th and Saturday January 17th (adult syllabus events are during the day). MAC is a national qualifying event, meaning if you are in the top 65% of competitors, you may go on to compete at USA Dance Nationals in Baltimore in March. It is being held in a hotel in Secaucus, NJ which you can easily get to by train (details to come). If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Lauren (lbc2119@columbia.edu).

If you are here over break, we highly encourage you to register! It is a large scale, prestigious competition, and if you end up going to nationals it will be an amazing experience with the ballroom world. We will cover the registration fee for Columbia affiliates.

There is also a USA dance membership fee, which we will also cover up to $25 (the full price for a student competitor) for Columbia affiliates.
